Questions about the PW342 PW3 rain pants
Are these pants ANSI Class 2 or Class 3?
They are ANSI/ISEA 107 Class E. Class E covers hi-vis pants and shorts that are worn together with a certified Class 2 or Class 3 top; worn that way, the outfit can meet Class 3. On their own, Class E pants do not make you Class 2 or Class 3.
How waterproof are the PW342 rain pants?
They have sealed seams and are rated EN 343 Class 4:3 X, with 11,000 mm water resistance and a 50,000 g/m2/24 hrs breathability rating.
Do the PW342 rain pants take knee pads?
Yes. They have bottom-loading knee pad pockets. Portwest certifies them to EN 14404 Type 2 Level 0 when used with the Portwest S156 knee pad.
Are they lined?
No. They are unlined, so you can layer underneath as the weather requires.
Are the PW342 rain pants flame resistant?
No. It is not flame resistant (FR) and should not be worn where FR clothing is required. Hi-vis polyester can melt when exposed to flame or high heat, and it is not firefighting gear.
