Description:
Open-water protection with a hood and face shield. The NRS Men's Element Jacket (NRS item 22543.02) is waterproof, breathable dry wear made from 4-layer Eclipse fabric, with an adjustable hood, a perforated face shield and latex wrist gaskets. The GlideSkin neoprene neck is more comfortable than latex for long shifts, which suits marine units, coastal rescue kayakers and crews facing wind and spray. Questions about the Element Jacket
Is the Element Jacket a full dry top?
It has latex wrist gaskets and a double tunnel, but the neck uses a GlideSkin neoprene seal instead of latex. NRS says that seal still keeps most water out, so it is not a fully latex-sealed dry top.
What does the face shield do?
The perforated face shield has a soft fleece interior and blocks wind and spray without restricting airflow. An offset zipper keeps it out of the way whether it is open or closed.
Does it work with a sprayskirt?
Yes. An inner skirt with a dual-adjust neoprene waist mates with your sprayskirt.
How do I choose a size?
Match your chest, waist and sleeve to the chart. A size L fits a 40–46 inch chest with a 34–35 inch sleeve. See more water rescue PPE.
Is the Element Jacket flame resistant?
No. It is waterproof paddling dry wear for water rescue and open-water work. It is not flame resistant, is not structural firefighting PPE and is not NFPA 1971 certified.
