Questions about the Vista PFD
What performance level is the NRS Vista PFD?
NRS lists the Vista at Performance Level 70 with a medium profile. It is not listed as a Type V rescue PFD and has no quick-release rescue harness, so it is not built for tethered or live-bait rescue work.
How do I choose a size?
Go by chest size. XS/M fits a 30 to 38 inch chest (88 to 154 lbs), M/L fits 36 to 46 inches and XL/2XL fits 44 to 56 inches (both 88+ lbs). Measure over the layers you will wear.
Is there a women's version of the Vista?
No separate version is needed. NRS built the Vista around its Every Body Design approach, so the same jacket is made to fit both men and women.
What makes the Vista a good spare jacket?
It has a basic front-zip design, six adjustment points and one zippered pocket, which makes it quick to hand out and fit. NRS designed it as an easy spare to keep on a boat.
Is the Vista PFD flame resistant?
No. The Vista PFD is water safety gear. It is not flame resistant, it is not structural firefighting PPE and it is not NFPA 1971 certified, so keep it away from fire and high heat.
