Questions about the NRS 5 inch barrel pump
Which valves does the NRS barrel pump work with?
It works with valves that act as one-way valves while being inflated, such as Leafield and Halkey-Roberts.
Does it have a check valve?
No. This pump does not have a check valve. Military valves that lack a one-way inflation feature need a check valve to be inflated.
How much air does it move?
Each stroke moves 2.03 gal. (7.7 liters) from the 5 inch diameter, 2.5 ft high barrel.
How do I maintain it?
There is a spare O-ring gasket in the bottom of the cylinder. If the pump needs re-lubricating, NRS recommends lithium grease.
Is the barrel pump rated for fire or high heat?
No. It is inflation gear for rescue rafts and other inflatables. It is not flame resistant and is not rated for fire or high-heat use.
