Kokatat builds its dry suits two ways. Front-entry suits like the Meridian and Legacy are easy to get in and out of on your own. The Icon moves the entry zipper across the back, so there is less material across your chest when you swim, climb out of a boat or scramble up a bank.   • What is the difference between GORE-TEX Pro and Hydrus 3.0?

    Both are waterproof, windproof and breathable 3-layer fabrics. GORE-TEX Pro is the 7.2 oz rugged shell used on the Meridian, Legacy, Icon and Odyssey suits. Hydrus 3.0 is Kokatat's own fabric with a tough nylon outer layer, used on the Meridian Hydrus 3.0 suit, the Stoke dry top and the Tempest dry pant.

  • Should my team pick a front-entry or back-entry dry suit?

    A front-entry suit like the Meridian or Legacy is easier to zip on your own. A back-entry suit like the Icon keeps the zipper off your chest, which gives you less bulk when you swim or climb out of a boat, but you will usually want a teammate to close it.

  • Do I need something under my Kokatat dry suit?

    Yes. A dry suit keeps water out but does not add warmth. Wear an insulating layer such as the Kokatat Habanero Dry Suit Liner, made of four-way stretch Polartec Power Dry, under the suit for cold water.

  • Is a dry top and dry pant the same as a dry suit?

    No. A dry top and dry pant are two pieces, so water can get in where they meet if you are fully submerged. They work well for boat crews and shore teams. For swimming and full immersion, choose a one-piece dry suit.

  • Can Kokatat replace the gaskets or socks on my dry suit?

    Kokatat runs a factory repair service, including replacement of latex, Hydrus 3.0 and GORE-TEX dry socks. The Public Safety Store is an authorized Kokatat dealer, so if a suit has a problem, send us your order number and we'll help you with the claim.
