Do I need the accelerator?
For the full bond, yes: LA 4009 is designed to be mixed with Clifton Accelerator ACC 4844. It can be used without the accelerator in an emergency, or where the heat and chemical resistance the accelerator adds are not required.
When do I apply the patch?
Patches can be applied when the glue is tacky. Once dry, the glue can be reactivated with heat, which is handy for inside patches. Review the repair instructions and the ACC 4844 mixing instructions before you start.
What materials does it bond?
PVC- and urethane-coated materials.
Is Clifton PVC Adhesive rated for fire use?
No. Clifton PVC Adhesive LA 4009 is a boat repair adhesive, not protective gear. It is not PPE and is not rated or certified for fire or firefighting use.
