SMC was founded in 1967 as Seattle Manufacturing Corporation by Jim Clark, and it started out making carabiners. SMC is now part of Harken, and SMC says all of its products are made in the USA at its Ferndale, Washington facility. SMC is an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer.
