Description:
A low-cut, metal free composite toe shoe for all-day work. The Portwest FC19 has a water resistant Action Leather upper, a composite toe cap and puncture resistant underfoot protection in a 100% metal free build. The engineered tread handles uneven ground and resists fuel, oil and water, and the outsole is heat resistant to 572°F. It is static dissipative (SD100) and ESD rated, a good fit for electronics, plant, warehouse and maintenance crews who prefer a shoe to a boot. Shop all safety toe work boots and shoes.
Features
- Composite toe cap (I, C): impact and compression protection for the toe area.
- Puncture resistance (PR): protection from sharp objects underfoot.
- Static dissipative SD100 and ESD: upper limit of electrical resistance of 100 megohms.
- Slip resistant outsole (SR): tested on dry and wet clay quarry tile, with tread for uneven terrain.
- Heat resistant outsole to 572°F: fuel and oil resistant, dual density sole.
- Water resistant upper and bellow tongue: help keep water out.
- 100% metal free: non-magnetic, nickel and ferrous free and metal detector friendly.

Questions about the FC19 safety shoe
Does the Portwest FC19 have a steel or composite toe?
Composite. The FC19 has a composite toe cap and is 100% metal free.
What does the FC19 ASTM marking mean?
It is ASTM F2413-24 I C SD100 PR SR: impact (I) and compression (C) toe protection, static dissipative to 100 megohms (SD100), puncture resistance (PR) and slip resistance (SR).
Is the FC19 waterproof?
It has a water resistant upper and a bellow tongue that resists water penetration. Portwest does not call it waterproof.
Is the FC19 rated for electrical hazard (EH)?
No. Its ASTM marking is SD100, which means static dissipative, not EH. SD footwear helps bleed off static charge; it is not designed to insulate you from live electrical circuits.
Is the Portwest FC19 safety shoe flame resistant?
No. The FC19 is safety footwear, not flame resistant (FR) gear, and it is not structural firefighting footwear or NFPA 1971 certified. Its heat resistant outsole (rated to 572°F) is about contact with hot surfaces, not fire protection.
