Description:
A spare ring for your rescue harness. The NRS Replacement Ring is the forged aluminum ring that rides on a rescue PFD's quick-release harness belt, used for towing a boat or tying in for a tethered swim (NRS item 40115.01). Swiftwater teams stash one in a PFD pocket or pin kit so a lost or damaged ring never takes a rescuer out of service. Find more water rescue equipment.

Questions about the Replacement Ring
Which ring size do I need?
Match the ring to your PFD's harness belt. Small fits a 1.5 inch belt (Zen, Vector and Ninja Pro PFDs). Large fits a 2 inch belt (Rapid Rescuer and Rapid Responder PFDs).
What is the breaking strength?
Minimum breaking strength is 28 kN for the Small ring and 33 kN for the Large ring.
What is the ring made of?
It is forged aluminum.
Why carry a spare ring?
Redundancy matters in rescue work. A spare in your PFD's front pocket or pin kit means you can still tow a boat or set up a tethered swim if a ring is lost or damaged.
Is it flame resistant or rated for fire use?
No. It is water rescue gear and is not rated for fire or high-heat use. It is not structural firefighting PPE and is not NFPA 1971 certified.
