NRS PFD Leg Straps attach to a compatible life jacket and keep it from riding up, which helps hold the wearer's head higher above the water (NRS item 40017.01). Questions about the NRS PFD Leg Straps
Which life jackets do these leg straps fit?
They fit all current and previous models of the NRS Big Water V Adult and Youth PFDs and the NRS Big Water Guide PFD. They may also fit other life jackets with loops or sleeves made for leg straps.
Will they fit the current NRS Rapid Rescuer?
No. These straps only fit the previous model of the NRS Rapid Rescuer (item 40025.01). For the current Rapid Rescuer and Rapid Responder, choose the NRS Rescue PFD Leg Straps.
Do leg straps replace a good PFD fit?
No. Leg straps are an extra safety measure and are not a substitute for a poorly fitted life jacket.
Do they fit kids?
Yes. The adjustable straps fit all ages and sizes, and they work with the youth version of the Big Water V.
Is it flame resistant or rated for fire use?
No. It is water rescue gear and is not rated for fire or high-heat use. It is not structural firefighting PPE and is not NFPA 1971 certified.
