Description:
A rigid handcuff built to keep control after the cuffs are on. The ASP Rigid Plus Cuffs (ASP 56055) use a one-piece unibody frame that limits how much a subject can move. The aluminum-bow version keeps weight down for officers who already carry a lot. Made in the USA.
Features
- Unibody rigid frame: a single contoured frame limits subject mobility and gives the officer a natural tactical grip for fast application.
- Forged 7075 T6 aluminum frame: strong and light, with smooth rounded edges instead of the sharp edges of stamped parts.
- Aluminum bows: lighter than the steel-bow option that ASP also offers in the Plus line.
- Keyless double locking: press the color-indicated bar with a fingertip to double lock, with no key needed during application.
- Dual-sided, single-turn keyways: the key works from either side, and one turn direction releases both the lock and the double lock.
- Replaceable Lock Sets: the locks are unitized, so they can be serviced in the field or swapped for a different or high-security configuration.
- Transport Kit compatibility: a channel in the middle of the frame accepts the ASP Transport Kit, which is sold separately.
Options: 1 Pawl or 2 Pawl
| Option | Part | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Pawl | 56055 | The standard configuration (ASP labels it Tactical). |
| 2 Pawl (Special Key Required) | 46055 | The high-security configuration (ASP labels it Security). It will not open with a standard handcuff key. |
Choose 1 Pawl for standard duty use. Choose 2 Pawl only when you also have the special key.

Questions about the Rigid Plus Cuffs
What is the difference between Rigid Plus Cuffs and chain or hinge Plus Cuffs?
Rigid cuffs join the two bows with a solid frame instead of a chain or hinge, which limits movement between the wrists. Chain and hinge models are listed separately.
What is the difference between 1 Pawl and 2 Pawl Rigid Plus Cuffs?
The 1 Pawl version is the standard configuration. The 2 Pawl version is the high-security configuration, and it requires a special key. A standard handcuff key will not open it, so choose 2 Pawl only if your agency issues that key.
Do they work with the ASP Transport Kit?
Yes. The channel in the center of the frame is made for ASP Transport Kits, which are sold separately.
How does the keyless double lock work on the Rigid Plus Cuffs?
Press the color-indicated double lock bar with a fingertip once the cuffs are set. No key is needed to do it. The indicator also shows lock status at a glance, which makes the step harder to skip.
Are they steel or aluminum?
This listing is the aluminum-bow version, with a forged aluminum frame.
