Is the PS81 Type I or Type II? Class E, G or C?
Type II, Class C. It meets ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 Type II Class C, including the optional LT and HT requirements.
Can I use the PS81 for electrical work?
No. It is a vented Class C helmet. For electrical work, look at the unvented Class E PS71.
Does the PS81 work with ear muffs?
Yes. It is compatible with the PW47 clip-on ear muff.
How often should the PS81 be replaced?
Portwest rates it for up to 7 years from the manufacturing date, as long as it is undamaged. Replace it sooner after any impact, crack or damage.
Is the Portwest PS81 flame resistant?
No. The PS81 is not flame resistant (FR) and is not firefighting head protection. It is industrial head protection and should not be used for structural firefighting.
