Questions about the Fixed Batten System
How many do I need?
Two per thwart. Each system is sold individually.
Which rafts does it fit?
Any NRS Otter or Expedition raft, and any other synthetic-rubber coated boat. Check that it matches your boat, or contact us.
How do I install it?
Glue the one-loop piece to the thwart and the two-loop piece to the inside of the side tube, using Clifton Hypalon Adhesive mixed with Clifton Hypalon Accelerator.
What is the difference from the adjustable system?
The fixed system holds the thwart in one spot with a 6" x 9" two-loop piece. The adjustable version uses a longer two-loop piece so the thwart can move 5 inches.
Is it flame resistant?
No. It is a raft repair part for water rescue boats and is not rated for fire or high-heat use.
