Description:
A submersible zippered duffel for the gear that cannot get wet under any circumstances. The 12L size works as a lap bag for essentials kept close at hand, and the larger duffels carry extended-operation gear for swiftwater, flood and SAR teams through swamping and rain. Questions about the Expedition DriDuffel
Is the Expedition DriDuffel submersible?
Yes. It has an IPX7 rating: when zipped, the contents are protected against water immersion for 30 minutes up to 1 meter deep.
How do I get the best seal with the TRU Zip?
Remove excess air before fully sealing. Once the bag is loaded, leave a small opening at the zipper, press down on the bag to form the material around the contents and let the air out, then close the zipper fully.
Does the TRU Zip need maintenance?
The toothless TRU Zip is self-repairing, which NRS says makes field maintenance a non-issue.
Which size should I choose?
The 12L (14" x 8.5" x 7") is a lap bag for essentials; the 35L, 70L and 105L duffels carry gear for longer operations. The 12L uses an unpadded strap; the larger sizes add a padded shoulder strap and end handles.
Is the Expedition DriDuffel flame resistant?
No. It is water rescue support gear. It is not flame resistant, is not structural firefighting PPE and is not NFPA 1971 certified, so keep it away from fire and high heat.
