Traffic Safety Wear

Traffic Safety Wear

High-visibility clothing helps drivers see you sooner. This category holds hi-vis mesh and solid vests, breakaway vests, short sleeve Class 3 vests, police and fire public safety vests, a hi-viz knit cap with reflective thread and a safety T-shirt.

How to choose

  • ANSI class: ANSI/ISEA 107 sets classes by how much background and reflective material a garment has. Class 2 suits most roadway work; Class 3 adds sleeves for higher speed or lower visibility.
  • Breakaway: Breakaway vests tear free if snagged by a vehicle or equipment, which many first responders prefer.
  • Comfort: Mesh breathes in hot weather; solid fabric holds up better in wind and cold.
  • Labels: Some vests here are non-ANSI and are for general visibility only. Check the listing if you need a rated garment.

Hi-Vis FAQ

What is ANSI/ISEA 207?

It is a high-visibility standard written for public safety vests, with shorter designs that work around duty belts and include breakaway features.

Can I wear a Class 2 vest on any road?

Requirements depend on traffic speed and your employer policy. Federal rules require high-visibility apparel for workers on federal-aid highways.
