• Who is Redback Boots?

  Redback Boots is an Australian work boot brand best known for its elastic-sided, pull-on leather boots. Many Redback styles, including the Bobcat, Whistler, Iron Bark and Tussock, are designed and made in Australia. Redback boots are built on a shock-absorbing, energy-returning PU midsole for all-day comfort on concrete floors, apparatus bays and job sites.

• What types of Redback boots are available?

  Redback's signature is the elastic-sided slip-on boot: the Easy Escape, the Bobcat family (Mesa, Tussock, Iron Bark, Copper Horse, Bonsall), the water-resistant Great Barrier and the Whistler Chelsea. For laces, choose the Lynx side-zip or Everest. Blue Tongue adds the Toro, Titan, Torque, Station and Fallbrook.

• Are Redback boots good for firefighters, EMS and police?

  Yes, for station wear, EMS and duty use. The Easy Escape pull-on goes on in seconds, and it comes in steel toe and an HD steel toe with scuff cap. The Lynx side-zip adds a composite safety toe with zip-on convenience. See our Redback first responder boots.

  Redback boots are not NFPA 1971 structural firefighting boots. For interior fire attack, wear certified firefighter boots.

• Do Redback boots come with a steel or composite safety toe?

  Yes. Steel toe options include the Easy Escape, Easy Escape HD, Bobcat Mesa and Great Barrier. Composite toe options include the Lynx (ASTM F2413 composite safety toe) and the Blue Tongue Toro, Titan, Torque, Station and Fallbrook. • How do Redback boot sizes work?

  Redback sizes its boots in UK sizes. Your US men's size is the UK size plus one, so a Redback UK 9 fits a US men's 10. Every size option on The Public Safety Store shows the US men's size first, then the women's equivalent and the UK size. Blue Tongue footwear uses US sizes.

• Are Redback boots waterproof?

  Most Redback leather boots are water-resistant rather than fully waterproof. The Great Barrier and Everest use water-resistant Aquapel leather, and the Blue Tongue Titan has a waterproof textile upper. • How do I care for Redback leather boots?

  Brush off dirt with a horsehair brush, clean suede and nubuck with a dedicated cleaning kit, and condition smooth leather with mink oil or a beeswax preservative.
