Questions about the Hero jacket
Is the Hero jacket flame resistant?
No. The Hero jacket is a polar fleece duty jacket for station wear and cool-weather layering. It is not flame-resistant (FR) apparel, is not NFPA certified, and is not PPE or turnout gear. Never wear it on the fireground in place of protective gear.
Does the Hero jacket work with the 3555 Rescue jacket?
Yes. It is designed to integrate with the 3555 Rescue Jacket System as a warm layer, and it works on its own as well. See Game duty and softshell jackets.
How does it fit?
It is an unlined, mid-hip length jacket with an open bottom hem and bungee drawstring, so you can snug the hem or leave it loose over a duty belt.
Is it warm enough for winter on its own?
Polar fleece is a mid-weight layer for cool days and indoor-outdoor work. For winter, pair it with the 3555 Rescue jacket or another outer layer.
