Rain Defender is Carhartt's durable water-repellent (DWR) finish. It keeps you dry and moving in light rain. Wind Fighter technology tames wind. Most of the jackets, vests and soft shells we carry use both, and the Rugged Flex soft shells and Super Dux pieces add stretch for ease of movement.

  • What is the difference between duck, Super Dux and Gilliam?

    Carhartt duck is 12-ounce, firm-hand ring spun cotton canvas, used on the Duck Traditional Coat, Duck Active Jac and Duck Vest. Super Dux is an 8.1-ounce nylon/elastane that Carhartt says is 35% lighter than traditional duck with twice the abrasion resistance. Gilliam pieces use a light 1.75-ounce Cordura nylon shell over 100-gram polyester insulation.

  • Are these Carhartt jackets flame resistant or high-visibility?

    No. None of the Carhartt styles we carry here is flame resistant or rated to ANSI high-visibility standards, and the Brite Lime and Brite Orange K121 hoodies are colors, not hi-vis garments. For rated gear, shop our high-visibility clothing.

  • Do you carry women's and tall Carhartt sizes?

    Yes. Women's styles include the Rain Defender Soft Shell Jacket, Gilliam Jacket and Vest, Textured Full-Zip Fleece and Clarksburg Full-Zip Hoodie. Tall sizes come in the Duck Traditional Coat and the Midweight Hooded Sweatshirt.
