Expandable Batons

Expandable Batons

Expandable batons collapse to a short handle for belt or pocket carry and extend with a firm snap of the wrist. This category holds full-size duty batons in 16, 21 and 26 inch lengths, compact concealable models in 30 to 50 cm sizes, and the gear that keeps them working: scabbards and belt carriers, end caps, grip kits, replacement tips, repair kits and inert training batons.

How to choose

  • Length: Shorter batons carry and conceal easily; longer ones give more reach. Many officers pick 21 inch for uniformed duty and a compact model for plainclothes or off duty.
  • Lock type: Friction-lock batons close by striking the tip on a hard surface. Button-release and positive-lock designs close with a push of the cap.
  • Weight: Airweight versions save weight on the belt; steel shafts add mass.
  • Carry: Match the scabbard or carrier to the baton series and length, and to how you carry: open top, flap, side-break or inside the waistband.

Brands we carry

Most of this category comes from ASP, including the Friction, Talon, Agent, Protector and Sentry lines and their parts. You will also find batons and holders from Rothco, UZI and Boston Leather.

Expandable Baton FAQ

Will ASP caps and tips fit any baton?

No. ASP parts are made for a specific series, such as F Series, T Series or A Series. Check the series named on the part and on your baton before ordering.

Do I need training to carry a baton?

Agencies normally require baton certification, and some states and cities restrict civilian carry. Check local law and your agency policy. Inert training batons let you practice without wearing out a duty baton.

Are these covered by warranty?

The Public Safety Store is an authorized dealer for every brand we carry, so manufacturer warranties apply. Need help with a claim? Contact us.
