How to choose
- Bleeding control: For severe bleeding, use pressure dressings and hemostatic gauze that you can pack into a wound, and get trained in their use.
- Chest injuries: Vented chest seals are used for open chest wounds; twin packs cover entry and exit wounds.
- Everyday care: Roll gauze, 4x4 pads, ABD pads and tape handle most routine wounds. Boxed quantities make restocking simpler.
- Sterility: Check that packaging is intact and dressings are within date before use.

An ABD (abdominal) pad is a thick, absorbent dressing used to cover larger wounds and soak up heavy drainage or bleeding.
What is a Med Pod refill kit?
Med Pod kits are pre-packed groups of supplies, such as bandages, ointments or hemorrhage control items, made for restocking a first aid or EMS kit quickly.
