Feniex FAQ

  • Where are Feniex lights made?

Feniex designs, assembles and tests its emergency lights, sirens and controllers in one building on the south side of Austin, Texas. Its product pages list the origin as made in the USA. The Public Safety Store is an authorized Feniex dealer.

  • What is Feniex Quantum?

Quantum is Feniex's patented, field-customizable line of lightbars, lightsticks and interior bars. You buy a Quantum product at one unlock level, and Feniex can unlock more colors later without replacing the light. Feniex's warranty is 10 years at the Full unlock level and 5 years at Dual or Tri.

  • What is the difference between Feniex Fusion and Quad lights?

Fusion lights are one color per unit, chosen from red, amber, blue, white or green. Quad lights put four colors in every module, so one light can run red, blue, amber and white. Pick Fusion for a simple single-color build and Quad when you want several colors from one light head.

  • Are Feniex lights SAE certified?

Many are. Feniex lists the Fusion surface mount at SAE J595 Class 1 and CA Title 13, the Fusion 100 at SAE J595, SAE J845 and CA Title 13, and Quantum sticks and bars at SAE J595, CA Title 13 and NFPA. For the Lux lights and the Quad Cannon, Feniex lists only SAE J1113, which is an electrical interference standard, not a light output rating.

  • Can I put red and blue lights on my personal vehicle?

It depends on your state. State laws decide who may use red, blue and other warning light colors, and many limit red and blue to authorized emergency vehicles. Some states allow volunteer firefighters or EMTs to use certain colors with a permit. Check your state's laws and your department's policy before you buy or install, because we can't give legal advice.

  • What is the Feniex warranty?

Feniex gives 10 years on Quantum at the Full unlock level, 5 years on Fusion, Quantum Dual and Tri, Q Series, Cannon and Quad Q3, and 2 years on speakers, sirens, most controllers and everything else, including the Lux lights. Coverage starts on the purchase date and goes to the original purchaser. The Public Safety Store is an authorized Feniex dealer, so if you think a product is defective, contact us with your order number and we'll help.

  • Which Feniex siren should I buy?

The Storm Pro is a compact remote siren for tight spaces; Feniex rates the 100W version at 124 dB with 23 tones and SAE J1849. The Typhoon combines a 100W siren with six light outputs on a console or handheld control. Pair a 100W siren with one Triton 100W speaker, or a 200W siren with two.

  • Where can I buy Feniex lights?
