Dragon Fire FAQ

  • Who makes Dragon Fire gloves?

Dragon Fire Gloves is a glove company in Chesterfield, Virginia that has been in business since 2005. It makes structural firefighting gloves like the X2S and rescue gloves like the BBP3 and First Due.

  • Are Dragon Fire X2S gloves NFPA certified?

Yes. The X2S and X2S Texan are certified by UL to NFPA 1971, 2018 edition for structural firefighting. The rescue gloves (BBP3, BBP2, First Due) are not structural gloves, so do not wear them for interior attack.

  • What is the difference between gauntlet, wristlet and cadet?

The gauntlet has a loose cuff that goes over your coat sleeve. The wristlet adds a yellow knit cuff sewn inside the gauntlet for a closer seal. Cadet sizes have the same palm as the regular size with fingers about a half inch shorter.

  • What is the X2S Texan?

The X2S Texan is the X2S with an extended cuff. It keeps the full natural leather shell of top grain cow and goat leather and is certified by UL to NFPA 1971, 2018 edition.

  • Which Dragon Fire glove is best for extrication and EMS?

The BBP3 has a thermal urethane bloodborne pathogen and vapor barrier with a Kovenex P thermal liner and reflective markings. The First Due has a sewn-in flame, cut, puncture and abrasion resistant liner with a thin Kovenex layer for flash protection.
