ASP makes two main duty baton mechanisms. Friction and Sentry batons lock open on a precision taper and close by striking the tip straight down on a hard surface. Talon batons open with a flick or fingertip extension and close into your hand or scabbard with a push of the button or cap. Airweight shafts are 45% lighter than steel with 98% of the striking potential, per ASP.
